Exclusive Premiere: Michael Idehall – In The Black Tower Of Alamut

cover

The never ending stream of good, concentrated efforts of Michael Idehall are delving further into his own aesthetics and esoteric messages. With “Aion Reborn” he treads on the same path that have been created since the start, but he opens up to a softer yet harsh landscape of sound that brings forth the most deranged, beautiful experiences yet.

Most of the tracks are entwined with one another, creating a dynamic thread that runs through the whole album. There is not much to add to an almost perfected sound, but yet he manages to fit different meanings and sounds into an already crammed soundscape. He is a genrebender by nature and there is no certain word that can put these works into a specific genre, which is refreshing.

We’ve always liked the warmth of his sound emanating from below, the atmosphere swings a heavy hand onto you and you’re hooked from the first track and all the way through. Luckily we get to exclusively premiere “In The Black Tower Of Alamut” from this album, and you can stream it down below.

Make sure to pre-order this album from Raubbau, it will be released on the 12th of September.

Excusive Premiere: Michael Idehall – Dream Circuitry

machinespirittransmission

Michael Idehall have been featured here countless times, but he never ceases to improve in regards to his industrial music (seancetronica) – now releasing his eighth album, if you only count full, solo releases. His work spans from the occult and back into electronic music, beyond any comprehension at times and sometimes in the realm of fathomable. With this album on the German label Raubbau, titled “Machine Spirit Transmission” – he widens his approach exponentially, including more beat-oriented sounds in terms of a general theme musically.

Aesthetically it features a new emblazoned symbol which we don’t know the inherent meaning about, but for those eager to know about the symbolism of Michael Idehall (the project), you should venture through his gates and into The Hermetic Library. Without knowing all to much, Aleister Crowley seems to be an influence in terms of the occult and esoteric nature in which music like this is created.

We’re pleased to announce to you that we’ve teamed up with Raubbau to bring you a full track from the forthcoming album. “Dream Circuitry” is the middle-point in which this album is construed, or at least that’s how we feel about it. Tune in and remember to buy the physical tape from the Raubbau distributer ant-zen, or simply order the digital release from Raubbau if you prefer it that way. The release date for it is on the 25th of October.

Michael Idehall releases new album titled “machine spirit transmission”!

machinespirittransmission

The Berliner label Raubbau have upped their discography with “machine spirit transmission“, a new album courtesy of Michael Idehall. It has eight tracks in total and will be released both digitally and on cassette – the latter through ant-zen mailorder. His music have been self-described as seancetronica and one could understand why – because the music itself resonates deeply with a spiritual nerve within the listener.

Tracklist for the release is as follows:

1. opening
2. ma kra oum ka bra nha
3. power mantra
4. dream circuitry
5. the singing of machines
6. technological automism
7. aukos
8. prophecy of the apparatus god

The previews of the songs adhere to a stronger, more present sound that Michael Idehall haven’t had as presence in his other releases. A murkier, more atmospheric and less noisy sound – which translates very well into how it progresses track to track.

You can preview snippets of each song from the ant-zen mailorder.

[22nd|23rd] December: Identity Theft & Michael Idehall

10841330_10153017701387573_344887033_n

Diligent musician Michael have ran Katabatik Records for a while now. Being that of a creative soul himself, he’s occupied with a multitude of different projects, in tune with his artistry. There’s a difference between his own project and that of Seacrypt – a group that became a household name, with their smashing mini-album “Seekers” – released on Falco Invernale Records in March of this year. We shouldn’t forget to mention Nommo Ogo, a more experimental act which have been around since the 1990s, which is one of his other groups. This main difference consists of how he portrays his sounds, because under the guise of Identity Theft – he’s developed it further into the obscure, but remains a lot more unique in sound – added to his repertoire via prolonged experimentation.

For his addition to Ljudkalendern he chose a topic, saddening as it is to read about it, for his song titled “Wait For Mask Signal” – which takes up a fragment of the “Leads Mask Case“. That adds a dimension to a song which make it more emotional to say the least. This clouds our own judgement of it and we leave it as a sonic piece; regardless of the influence. Musically, it’s a minimalistic journey with a solid rhythm that furthers an atmospheric consciousness. We feel busily engaged as we normally don’t do in a minimalist’s setting, as we travel into the music instantly. There’s a certain vibe that Michael have managed to create notwithstanding the topic, sonically – which makes us tranquil. Listen to it in whole down below, exclusively for you, in tune with 22nd December of Ljudkalendern.

The master himself returns with an homage, that we interpret ourselves to be, in honor of an ancient Roman tradition. If you don’t know what that is, it’s the ancient roman celebration and festival, which according to the Julian calendar falls in between the 17th and 23rd December. Originally intended to be a celebratory gesture towards the God of sow and seed – Saturnus1. Just as this is written, “Svartkonster” have been launched on Beläten. It was originally a mix that Michael Idehall did for Repartiseraren and has now turned into physical emblems, items and a full release both digitally and otherwise. We thought we would mention it, at least. Because there haven’t been anything else since “Deep Code”, it’s interesting to bring something to those of you mainly interested in the sound – as we are.

For Ljudkalendern and originally intended to be launched on the 23rd December, but due to difficulties to find any time to make an effort for the article – it’s written right here and now, with the help of earlier unfinished scribblings, so bear with us. The song that is shared is titled “Saturnalia” and is a rough mix, both sonically and also because it is an early rendition of what might be something else in the future. Probably one of the rougher pieces he’s created, spanning not so long in time but carrying a weight that smashes through anything – maybe even Mach 1 wouldn’t be a problem if it would’ve been anything even remotely related to aerodynamics. Well, listen for yourselves and see what you feel and hear.

Mixtape: Michael Idehall – Svartkonster

Svartkonster-2

Michael Idehall is truly a master of the dark arts. With his first mixtape ever for Repartiseraren, he goes into shadowy territory. This mixtape is an introductory to his teachings which he meddles to the listener through an innovative landscape that quickly shifts from a baseless dark ambient, to a sudden flash of industrial – bordering to death-industrial – but not purely associated with one genre. His own visions are deeply ingrained in this mixtape and it will make us mortals tremble. Everyone will have their own opinion, but we’re speaking in tongues as we’re caught in the middle of greatness. Now nobody really knows where they stand and everything will change in the nearest future. You don’t know if it’s a crack in the wall or if the world is being torn apart.

With Svartkonster” the metaphysics of his music is represented as a theme. Depending on who you ask, the theme varies, but it begins with a false sense of security as the wave of darkness begins to catch up with you and quickly rumble into a complete storm. Your senses are clouded as his magical and hypnotizing sounds do their best to seduce you into compliance. I’m proud to be hosting this mixtape and to be working with Michael Idehall on a co-operative level. Even though he is the conjurer, I am the overseer that sees to everything being where it should be. Enter a blackened world that makes the post-apocalypse seem like a fairytale.

A lot of words can be used to describe it, but it is best to just listen to it and make up your own mind – if you’re still in charge afterwards. Illusory, steady as steel and inconstant are words that might not be apt to describe it wholeheartedly, but I feel so empty after I’ve been struck with the perfection that emanates through layers and layers of sonically charged superstition. You can trust me on the fact that it will at least not leave you indifferent, I believe it will leave you with a magnitude of different emotions – each to his own. Listen to it down below.

Listen: Michael Idehall – Spiderwoman

artworks-000078847566-7i540z-t500x500

Beläten and Invisible Guy presents: Shadow Rite – A Beläten Mixtape!

Beläten-Shadow-Rite

Beläten have long been a proponent of Invisible Guy, or at least as long as we’ve been collaborating with each other. Thomas Ekelund is the head of this gargantuan Swedish label. It seems larger then it is, but it actually is what it seems. Invisible Guy have been a proponent of Beläten, since it’s one of the best and most exquisite labels today. It also makes me proud that it comes out of Sweden, my homestead. Earlier, he’s mixed the mixtape “Visions and Light“. This mixtape is the second one in these unofficial “series“. With 50% forthcoming material that’s going out on Beläten later this year, mixed with the majestic wonders of aufnahme + wiedergabe, La Forme Lente, Malignant Records and Avant!. With a great feature, which you’ll enjoy – a world premiere for a Trepaneringsritualen track, which will be out on Malignant Records later this year. Dance in the flaming pyre, embrace the rites of power, thrown into barren landscapes – is your ego being annihilated, in the Shadow Rite.

Invisible Guy and Beläten constitute some of the most powerful forces coming out of Sweden as we speak. Which brings me to introduce this collaboration with Beläten to you people, so that you can enjoy some exclusive songs from forthcoming releases. But do also enjoy those other songs that have been carefully selected to be featured in this mixtape. His legacy returns to my sphere once again, as his selection empowers the slumbering soul of the awaited Autumn.
